THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART CHICAGO

Role in the Project: Solo show at the MCA Chicago and other venues to promote “Here Not There”, a performance art piece that uses audio and large scale video projection onto highly trafficked buildings during special events in Chicago.

Software/Hardware Used: Panasonic 20,000 lumen projector. Peavey amplifier and speakers, spotlights, AV / power cables, video camera for archiving.

Your Influence: On the 4th of July, 2007 and over that week, I performed an audiovisual tribute to fallen female soldiers, sailors and airmen projected onto the west facing plinth of the MCA in Chicago, before, during and after fireworks displays in Chicago. I performed the ritual in a designated room inside the MCA for several days thereafter.

Results, Impact, or Outcome of the Project: Raised visibility for the contributions and sacrifices of women in military combat.
